The State of the Union.

There's a group of people sitting near me in the lounge here. They're talking about how much they love Tom Friedman and Jeffery Sachs.

They miss the relative proximity of the Wal-Marts from their hometowns compared to how far it is in Austin.

Do these people have KKK pepper shakers from that time they went to France with their respective Greek Organizaitons?

With full cognizance of the gravity that has historically accompanied this question: What is to be done?

man its a problem with the media. im telling you, if you expose people to the other side they will respond by showing that side of them.

think baudrillard, that the norm has become the law. who is setting these norms. the media.

we have DINOs - Democrats in Name Only(see Wiki) running around, people who want to be democrats but have a warped idea of what that means. they think being radical is caring about global warming.

I passed a group of people on campus together and one guy said to the others, playfully, "and so I decided to become a rich yuppie!" Polite laughter all around. Not that this says anything one way or the other. But I thought about the Sheriff.
