Are we supposed to know who these people are? Or are they just nameless dudes chattering from the nether regions of the financial internet? Do you have any comment on what they have to say?

OK, to be a bit less cranky about it: obviously this is THE Pete Peterson, former Secretary of Commerce, and a billionaire co-founder of Blackstone. But what do *you* think of his arguments? Do you agree that we need not worry about the current state of the market (which is relatively dire), but need to consider instead the long-term fall out from our irresponsible, debt-dependent national lifestyle?
Just looking for some comment or introduction...

I love this blog and everyone on it precisely because we receive the chance, no the *opportunity*, to offer our views, express our thoughts, and give ourselves a voice in the same manner as Pete Peterson, on an equal playing field with Pete Peterson, Harvard Economists, and so on.

And for this reason I am flattered that you have asked for my thoughts on his arguments. But, as time is short, I can only use videos of Pete Peterson, funky graphs, and short news clippings to paint a picture of the world in which we live, regardless of whether or not I agree with what is posted. Sometimes this is all that is needed to communicate an idea, while often it is not, and one feels compelled to address an issue using nothing but his own words as I have several hundred times before, in an effort to educate and to communicate, to express, and to grow amongst friends.
