I must say that this article felt very Stephen Glass-ish, particularly the whole 20-year-old kid (Weev) showing up in a Rolls Royce sounding like someone out of Fight Club (or the Joker) while losing thousands on the commodities market (liberty, if this is you I urge you to come clean now).
No, but, if the gains weren't ill-gotten, anyone in love with the volatile lifestyle might be in envy of Weev.
I thought the story was made up as well. But now I think it is quite realistic. Clearly he paid the blond kid to drive the rented Rolls Royce, something I used to do in the my hay day, to impress the reporter. If he is a hacker he probably has access to billions of credit card numbers. At the least it is not implausible.
That being said, if I saw any one of these trolls out and about I would troll their dead carcass through Central Park on the back of a horse.
