Buy Republican/buy Democrat

Finally, a Zagat guide that is not merely fodder for American Psycho jokes: The Blue Pages. This is not simply about boycotting, as an individual, certain businesses whose political practices you disagree with. Hopefully more people could use this to show their political solidarity. The Seattle Times notes, as an example, that Dell gives 88% of its contributions to Reps while Newman's Own gives 100% to Dems. I know, I know, you can't do politics with Lite Italian dressing, but this seems like a useful tool.

Newman's Own will also give $10,0000 to your favorite progressive charity if you can eat "fifty eggs" in an hour.

"Hopefully more people could use this to show their political solidarity". Just wonderful stuff. Make more effort, spend more money, use more resources in order to further political division. This is utter stupidity.
This uses economic force for and against people who are expressing their political views. Shouldn't we want people to do so?
You could argue that they should not be able to use their money to bolster their positions. Fine; why should you?
Ridiculous.

A5k--I don't know if you're still checking this post, but I'd like to hear more of your rationale regarding this opinion; at face value I find it pretty distasteful, to say the least. Ridiculous even

This Zagat guide is fascinating. Here are some other companies that are listed:
Exxon/Mobil gives 85% of its contributions to the Green Party.
Einstein Bagels Corp. gives 77% of its contributions to the American Nazi Party.
Goldman Sachs give 92% of its contributions to the Socialist Workers Party.

Here we see how it doesn't matter who you buy from, because they've sufficiently hedged their bets:
